  • During this time of separation there are a lot of church members who might be feeling extra lonely. Ask a parent or reach out to your minister for the name and address of someone who would be excited to hear from you. Try making a card for them using whatever supplies you have at home.

Ripple Effect Science Experiment

Materials Needed: A container, water, corn starch, objects of various weights and sizes

  • Create Oobleck mixture – https://babbledabbledo.com/how-to-make-oobleck/
  • Fill a shallow container, like a baking dish with oobleck and drop items of various weights and sizes into the mixture from above. Pay close attention to the ripple that is created when an item is dropped. How far do the ripples go? What has the biggest ‘ripple effect’? Think about the way that the items make the oobleck around them move, even without touching it. This is often how acts of service work – we do one small thing and it has a larger impact. What was the ripple effect of mailing a letter? Or putting together a hygiene kit? How might these acts extend beyond one person?

Random Acts of Kindness Bingo
